Pana Labor Day Parade Horse Show is Monday
The annual Pana Labor Day Parade Horse Show will be held prior to the parade, Monday, September 6, with judging beginning approximately 9:30 a.m., at Wallace Brothers Stables (former sale barn), south side of Pana at the intersection of Cold Springs Rd. and Poplar St. (1 block west of U.S. 51).

"American Pride" Theme for 95th Annual Kincaid Labor Day Picnic
Live entertainment, food, fun, and a friendly family atmosphere will all be a part of this year's 95th Annual Kincaid Labor Day Picnic. The four day event will start on Friday, September 4, and last four days. Mark Wolfe, who is in helping coordinate the picnic, is very excited about the changes being made this year.

TAAC Lecture Series: "One Starfish at a Time"
The Taylorville Area Arts Council will be hosting Dr. Brenda Clark, Director of Music Education programs at the University of Indianapolis, this Thursday evening at 7:00 p.m. in the Shumway Room at One East Market and Jazz Club. The topic of discussion will be the history of public school music education.

Discussion group critiques Wingate's The Summer Kitchen
In a two-punch jab sequence, readers challenge life and a new novel. The 2010 Book Discussion Group met at the Christian County Senior Center to discuss The Summer Kitchen, by Lisa Wingate. Retha McAley, Cathy Hunter, Doris Castagno, Marion Lamb, Joy Vaughan, and Director John Heldman were present. "You knew right away, it was a book that was teaching you something," a reader said.

TMH Auxiliary to host 3rd Annual Purse Auction
The TMH Auxiliary is gearing up for the 3rd annual "It's In the Bag" Purse Auction. The auction is set for Thursday, October 7, 2010 at the Taylorville Moose Lodge at 6:00 PM. The fundraising event will feature both a live and silent auction of designer and one-of-a-kind purses and accessories.
